Answers to FAQs

Kids and Dogs? The event is family and dog friendly. There is a food truck, Fido To Go, with treats just for your pets! There are also plenty of great food options for the entire family. Well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed. There is no specific family activity area at the event, however the live music and DJ stage, plus the Glory Concession balloon dart game should keep kids occupied. There is also plenty of table & chair seating and grassy boulevard areas for picnicking and running around.

Free or Ticketed? There is a $5 suggested donation to attend. 20% of event proceeds benefit local non-profits La Casa Norte, Northwest Food Partners Network and the Illinois Food Truck Owners Association. While the donation is optional, everyone must enter the site through the designated entrance gates where local volunteers from the benefiting non-profit la Casa Norte will ask for the optional $5 donation, and security staff will be performing bag checks.

Are Bag Checks Really Necessary? Yes. Sorry for the inconvenience but please understand that the bag checks are a required and necessary as part of the event' s safety and security plan which is outlined in the special event permit, approved by the Police Commander and Special Events Department, and the bag checks are meant to help keep all patrons safe inside the permitted site.

Bringing in your own Booze? Nope, you can't sorry. Because of the special event permit and liability insurance, the event can only have certain points of sale for alcohol, and outside booze is not allowed into the site in order to protect the events permits and liability. There will be two bars with great drink options for imbibers. Please bring a picnic blanket and enjoy drinks from our bar on the boulevard!
